Thomas Rubens
Managing Partner
Biography
Thomas joined DN Capital in 2012 and was promoted to Managing Partner in 2025. He began his career in investment banking at Barclays Capital before moving into venture capital, starting at the ground floor of DN’s investment team. Early in his career, he was a core member of the deal team behind Auto1 (FSE: AG1), one of DN Capital’s most successful IPOs.
At DN Capital, Thomas co-leads the software sector team with a focus on Enterprise AI investments at the Series A stage. His investment thesis centers on leveraging artificial intelligence to build proprietary technology, automate complex workflows, and establish defensible data moats. He focuses on applied AI, machine learning, and no-code development, areas that are reshaping enterprise software by delivering transformative levels of automation and accuracy.
Thomas has built a strong track record backing category-defining companies from Seed through IPO and beyond. He has played a leading role in several of DN’s unicorn and public market successes, including Auto1, HomeToGo (FSE: HTG), Yassir (led at Seed), and Incode (led at Series A, where he serves as DN’s board member).
His enterprise SaaS portfolio includes Incode (General Atlantic backed digital trust platform, billion+ valuation), Leapwork (KKR backed test automation), Hypatos (AI-powered financial automation), GetAccept (Bessemer backed sales enablement), and NoMagic (Khosla backed AI-powered robotics software). He has also achieved successful exits with Artur’In (acquired by PSG) and Zivver (acquired by Kyteworks).
Beyond SaaS, Thomas led DN’s Seed investment in Yassir, one of the fastest-growing companies in the MENA region. Now valued at over $1 billion and backed by top-tier US investors, Yassir has become one of Africa’s leading tech unicorns. Thomas was also a key team member on Quandoo (acquired by Recruit).
